Clinical Devotion Outside the Hospital
"Whenever Dr. Munuswamy traveled to Chinna Mambattu to conduct Annadhanam, he also dedicated his time to treating impoverished local patients. Long before his arrival, villagers would gather with their medical records in hand. He tirelessly consulted patients, analyzed histories, and distributed free care until 4:00 PM before returning to his duties in Tirupati."
Dr. Munuswamy systematically organized free health screenings in rural regions surrounding Chinnamambattu. Understanding the barriers rural women face in diagnosing health risks, he partnered with SVIMS to deploy the **Pink Bus diagnostic service** directly into remote areas for early cervical and breast cancer screening.
Hundreds of women received life-saving screenings and free drug prescriptions, funded out of his own salary and through community contributions.
Every year on Saraswathi Pooja Day, underprivileged children gather at the Annadhana location. Alongside the meal distribution, Dr. Munuswamy distributed notebooks, slates, and stationery sets to support their education and advocate for higher enrollment in rural villages.
This initiative helped reduce school drop-out rates in Mambattu village by providing essential learning materials directly to families in need.
Promoting the philosophy that environmental wellness is directly linked to human health, Dr. Munuswamy spearheaded green campaigns. He worked with rural youth and volunteers to plant native neem and ashoka trees across roadside lands and school grounds.
